You can get started by submitting our contact form or scheduling a discovery call. Based on the information you provide and which services you are interested in, we will send a link to one or more short questionnaires that will help us to better understand your request.
We will then clarify additional details through email, phone, and/or video chat, after which you will be sent a link to a proposal with pricing. Simply click on the link to review, and if everything looks good, provide your e-signature.
After the agreement is signed, we may request additional materials and provide you with a Google Drive folder where you can upload them. When these assets are received, your project will be entered into our queue to be completed as agreed.
Apicem's pricing varies depending on the scope of each project and the services required to complete the work. Some services are priced on fixed quotes while others are charged hourly. For services charged hourly, you will be updated regularly on the accumulated time and cost. More information about each service is provided below:
Logo Design
Logo Design is charged hourly. The amount of time required to complete a logo can vary considerably–usually between 6 and 15 hours depending on the process you choose and the rounds of revisions used to reach the desired result. Apicem does not provide fixed quotes on logo design because it would necessitate building in a buffer that would lead to higher costs for most of our clients.
While some online design shops offer logos for a fixed cost this often means they limit the number of revisions, skip refinements, or take shortcuts such as utilizing stock vector assets. A logo design should be unique and serve your brand for many years. It cannot be updated very often without creating additional costs or negatively impacting your brand identity. This is why logo design should not be rushed or subjected to the same budgetary constraints as work associated with more temporary promotional initiatives.
Brand Guidelines
Simple brand guidelines with usage rules for logos, fonts, and colors are quoted at a fixed price. Adding additional guidelines that define messaging style, provide audience insights, detail photographic style, and/or include additional assets such as custom thematic graphics or icons is charged hourly.
Messaging & Copywriting
Messaging and copywriting is included in fixed quotes for websites, emails, and display ad designs. When clients choose to provide their own copy, the cost of this service is deducted from quotes. In other scenarios, copywriting is charged hourly.
Web Design
Websites and landing pages are quoted as a fixed cost based on the scope defined by the initial questionnaire and any followup required to clarify details. Once we have the information needed to estimate, we will send a proposal that clearly defines the work to be completed by Apicem. Any work that falls outside of the defined scope, such as additional pages or functionality, is charged hourly.
UI UX
Even when assessed in detail, UI UX Design presents a large number of unknown variables. Because we are working with our clients’ development teams and cannot predict all of the nuances of their processes, capabilities, or constraints, this service is charged hourly.
Display Ads
Display ads utilizing pre-existing brand or stock assets are generally quoted at a fixed price with the exception of more elaborate ads that require more custom design or coding.
Email Design
Emails are generally quoted at a fixed price per email with a separate cost for the buildout of a branded template that can be customized for different campaigns.
Print Design
Print design is charged hourly due to the widely varying scope of print projects and the logistics and communication involved in choosing a printer and working with them to produce a high quality result.
Conversion Optimization
Conversion optimization is charged hourly as a consultation service. This is also due to variance in scope. Some clients may only wish for Apicem to evaluate their website while others may request that we analyze other aspects of the customer journey. In some cases we may need to provide extensive feedback while in others our suggestions may be more geared towards refinement of existing strategies.
Once you have reviewed and approved the work detailed in the agreement, we will email an invoice with 15-day payment terms. For some larger projects we are able to extend terms to 30 days upon request. Finalized assets and rights will be released to your company's ownership after payment. Apicem will retain rights to display any completed work for the promotion of our services unless otherwise agreed upon. In the case of long term clients who request work regularly and have remained in good standing, Apicem can draft agreements that allow for the immediate release of assets, monthly invoicing, and 30-day terms. We accept ACH, checks, all major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
Some of the designers, copywriters, and developers who complete work for Apicem may be contractors who have agreed to work within Apicem's systems and under the Apicem brand. Apicem does not approach unvetted freelancers for one-off jobs. All contractors are vetted, and all of their work is overseen and quality controlled by our Creative Director.
The relationships we establish with contractors are always intended to be long term so as to maintain team cohesion and consistent results that meet high standards of quality. In the rare scenario when the scope of work requested is determined to exceed the combined skillset of our senior staff and contractors, Apicem may approach additional specialists or vendors with client approval to complete a portion of the work. In these cases, no additional premium will be charged on top of vendor or specialist fees for the outsourced portion.
